89 Turbo....STUMPED.. >.<

I just bought an 89 turbo and the guy i bought it from just had the head completely rebuilt with a MHG and Arp bolts...its been only a month since i had the car and it has no leaks minimal shaft play and pulls strong....Problem is i noticed one of the water lines to the turbo was bulging at one end so i replaced it. As soon as I took the hose off it looked more like oil than radiator fluid spilling out. So i finish installing the hose and open up the radiator cap and find what looks like a giant oil cooler rather than a radiator. I pressure tested the engine...no loss in pressure...no smoke from exhaust...turbo and piping is clear of any oil....no overheating....Im at a loss.....any feedback will help....Its my only transportation and i do not wanna drive it for fear of nuking my only ride.....

Well, it's time to drain the oil and PRAY! A blown head gasket doesn't have to open into a cylinder.. it can open a passage between oil and water jackets. If this is the case drain it quick, the moisture in the oil pan could destroy all of the bearings in the lower end.

If nothing turns up in the oil pan, drain and flush the coolant system (thoroughly). Refill it and pressure test the coolant system to about 14psi. If there was coolant in the oil pan you may want to do this with the pan's drain bolt out.

Hopefully it is a BHG... otherwise it could be a crack in the block.

Auto or Manual Box ? If its an auto you could have leak in the radiator between the coolant and the tyranny fluid cooler. An auto supra has a radiator made in two sections, the bottom section is an oil cooler for the tyranny fluid, whist the majority of the top part is for the engine coolant. Also; have you removed the engine oil filer cap to check for any white deposits of emulsified oil.

They made automatic Supras?!

An excellent point. I completely forgot about that possibility.
