Default Alternator Droped

Well i drove my car for the first time in awhile cuase i needed to drop off the 08' corolla for some body work. Anyways i run out to my car to go pick up food for the rest of the guys here and car wont start.

It turns over very well and sounds strong but does not attempt to crank.
I have my wife strt the car(well attempt to) with me looking into engine bay.

The alternator attempts to spin the belt but is doing a very poor job at it. Cannot remember if its supposed to turn with key on on posistion?? Well it doesnt and it half hazardly attempts to pull it along while cranking.

Check the belt tension and its pretty loose. Alternator looks like it droped. I cannot move it with my hand at all bolts still seem pretty tight.

What would cuase my alternator to drop like that? I have driven it around for ahwile since i last messed with alternator about 3-4 months.

Someone here mentioned that if the Alternator had seized up while car was running the belt would of jerked the alternator down. Is this hte case?

Obviously if alternator seized up its going bad and needs to be replaced. If i lift it back up and tighten it in to posistion is there any harm with driving it home? about 15min drive. So i can get to the rest of my tools? Or should i fix it where it is?

Thanks
