when i run into this
i release and press the clutch one more time instead of forcing it

mine does the samething the sycronizer (how ever you spell that) is out i find after the car has been running for a while it shifts into reverse without grinding just put it in reverse when you park it and you should have the problem or do as someone said above "double clutch it" and it might work too

Mine only grinds if i am rolling and i try to put it into reverse. It won't shift into reverse sometimes so i just roll a bit and then it goes in.

I don't believe there is a syncro for reverse. So...you should always put the clutch in and wait a few seconds before attempting reverse gear.

Does it go right into first gear??

Sometimes, when they wear down, or other problems arise, the clutch disc may stick a little to the flywheel, or pressure plate.

That will also cause the problem you describe.

Also, perhaps the clutch is not fully dis-engaging when you press the pedal all the way in.

There is no synchro for reverse. So it's normal. Unless it takes a little more than just "some" forcing. Then there may be a bigger problem.

sometimes mine wont go into reverse no matter how hard i push on the stick. i have to do one of two things, 1.let the clutch out a little bit while applying a little pressure to the stick and it slides right in or 2. take foot off the brake and let the car roll forward or backwards a couple inches and itll go in.
