First Gear pops out?

After putting a 3inch exhaust put on my car, i've been driving about 100miles and on this last drive at the end of the drive i'll go to put it in first by going second to first, and it "seems" like it's going in, then you let the clutch out, and you hear a POP as soon as the clutch grabs and the car goes into neutrul. :help:

If i put it really slowely into second to first really slow or really aggressily then it'll go in sometimes, it's half and half, though the last 5 times i tried it went into first and stuck. The tranny shifts completely the same as it did before, no grinds nothing, i check my clutch fluid level and it's just above the min line by like 1-2mm. I'm going to try and bleed my clutch tommorow, also important to note, when the car is in first and it's moving only once has it came out under light accel, never under heavy, and it will pop out 70% of the time under decell. I don't think it's my tranny syncro's because it's so inconsistant. Also my master cylinder looks to be leaking aswell.

So, did my tranny on my 7m-GTE decide it doesn't want to be a tranny anymore or is it just the clutch no disenging all the way? Please help.

Fix the leaking master cylinder and bleed the system first. Then check all your motor mounts and tranny mount and make sure your shifter is not interfering with anythhing in the interior and is all tight. If its hitting the center consle plastic thing underneath it might not be going into gear fully

If it's worth noting anything, before it started to do it somebody asked me if it was a standard or not and i shook the shifter pretty good left to right not in any gears while the car was off. The times when it won't go into first it feels like first isn't even there, like it just feels like i'm pushing into nothing, and the tranny just makes noise as i let the clutch go.

From what i told does it sounds like a bad clutch something or master cylinder or a blown up tranny? I Just bought the car 3 weeks ago and the tranny shifts so smooth and was babied most of it's life. Thanks

id pull the shifter out and inspect it, sounds like the bushing could be causing some sort of problem. When you say it pops out, do you mean if you hold the shifter it will stay in gear or it doesnt engage at all in the first place

I never tried holding it in, but it just seems like it's not going into first all the way, but if i pump the clutch 3-4 times it normally will go into first gear and stay in. I'm pretty sure there is air in the line, i'm bleeding the line this afternoon. All the other gears seem a little harder to get into as well. I love the help keep it coming.

master cylinder or slave cylinder hopefully.

If not, the clutch is hydraulic. That's the next stop for me.

first gear syncro is fucked. Took it to a tranny shop, they said it was done. WOW 2000rpm downshift from second to first fucked my syncro woooo. Anyways, i got a new tranny for 300 bucks opened it up, it looks good, it's going in next week.

a single shift shouldnt damage it that much, most synchros wear gradually, so repeated downshifts to first at high speeds would cause that but a single shift shouldnt

Seriously, to be honest i was driving the hell out of it, i just got my exhaust on i put 60 kilometers on drifting, powersliding hard 1-2 shifts breaking the rear tires loose. This was a lady driven car, it has reciets all from toyota all the way up from 62,000kms to what it has now, like timing belt, water pump, oil changes. I looked through them all... and not once does it say the transmission oil was done, and i think i can hear teeth banging around in the tranny aswell.. Once i get it apart i'll post back with pictures.

First gear synchro will probably last the longest. Definitely check the slave cylinder and/or bleed it. You should never have any problems going into first.
