Question about the stock wheels

What are they coated in? after cleaning mine the covering of the wheels in a few places is a lil bubly, and even worn off in a few places.....

I love the way the stock wheels look... Just wondering if anyone has striped this stuff off and whats under there....

I'm not sure what's on it, but you can get them stripped and recoated or maybe even powdercoated to match up with your car a little better.

theyre just painted. Lots of people strip the paint to reveal the shiney machined look and like them like that.

nice i think ill definatly do that, what about the plastic center peice what they do with those to get'm to match the new shine??

also you need to take off the tires to strip them? what do they use to strip it with?

theres this stuff called aircraft stripper, you can get it at any auto parts store i think and walmart. Strips the paint fairly well. I dont know about the center piece, maybe get chrome spray paint? And no you can leave the tires on

Just be careful about getting the stripper on the tires, as it'll eat away at some of the layers of the rubber weakening it substantially.

It would be remove the tires before you strip the tires. Thats chemical is to strong for the tires. it might damage it. If you really want to get that stock look, autopartwarehouse have it in stock the last time I checked. forgot the price though. here's the link Auto parts
