exhaust and alternator
1. i have gone through 2 exhaust manifold gaskets, i dont know the part number but its the gasket that goes from the block to the exhaust manifold. it has blown out in the dumber 6 cylinder both times. in the same spot. i think i might have a crack there or something. or could it be too high of pressure in the # 6 cylinder? i dont have a compression tester.
2. whenever i turn up my radio too loud, it cuts out and my lights dim. is it because i have a bad or going bad alternator or could it be something with the aftermarket stereo? anything would be great. thanks |
if you have a high powered sound system i recommend a capacitor

When your driving at night hold the clutch down and let the rpms drop to idle, then give the engine some gas, if the lights become brighter then something may be out of wack, my lights do that but the car never looses charge so I haven't seen the need to replace the alt or batt yet. Good luck.

ok. does anybody have anything on the exhaust?
|
Well I'm thinking combustion.
If you have your plugs torqued down, you could be throwing off the spark pattern. Wich could cause a larger discharge when the petro ignites. I can't think of anything for the exhaust really. Be glad its an easy fix. |
yeah. when i drive at night the lights will dim when im idling then will get brighter when the RPM'S get higher. im very confused. ha
|
That says your alternator is trying to go out.
If this is confusing you already. You may want a honda. Because it's going to get much much worse before it gets any better in the least. |
im not super confused. i was just wondering if its what i thought t it was. and it was. haha. i really dont want to take off the belt and put a new one on. i hate money. anybody else wish they had one of them money trees!? :)
oh yeah and i dont like hondas because everyone i know that drives a honda thinks they are the shit and can drive like a pro street racer cuz they cut of the exhaust to sound "cool". thats why i got a supra. to kick their ass! ha:barf:honda |
