Well, I got nothing else. Pics are proof enough. All I can say is.... cool, another mk2 with a 7m, nice. Score on a rare engine.

Green7mgte 08-04-2011 01:01 AM

yea, not mad buddy.. congrats on the rare find! Engine bay looks nice. must of put some work into it.

mk2brooks 08-04-2011 06:14 PM

Thanks.. I get a little mad when someone say that I don't have something in my car. When I do all the work to it..

El Supracabras 08-05-2011 01:28 PM

So, uhhhh, you gonna tell us where the heck you picked up such a rare piece of a supra? You got some inside source or something? I'd love to get my claws on that ecu.

Ebay...lol..

ive got an A on my compressor housing also and come to think of it the engine that i took out of the car was a ge block??? i thought some idiot had just put a turbo on their 7mge and thought it would work. i guess i should have done a little more research before scrapping that block... oh well.
I thought the A was normal stamp for a st26 housing but i guess it a little different ...
gotta love finding out stuff you have is better than you thought.

Don't get too excited, you probably were right. The A on the housing is normal from what I have seen. My 89 has it on the compressor too. You could measure the wheel to see if it is any bigger than a regular ct26.

Oh good hell.... I just learned that i potentially blew a CT26 A then... :(

Rest is standard GTE fare tho afaik, has afm based system so guess someone just got hold of an A spec turbo... good job I didn't try a rebuild kit then :sadwavey:

Anyone got impeller/turbine dimensions to hand?

EDIT-: further to this, having done some trawling the stock CT26 (which does have an A on the comp housing anyway) appears to have fairly even sized turbine/compressor housings externally, anyone confirm? Mine appears to be rather bigger on the compressor side...

i've been doing alot of reading up on this and the ct-26A was an option in 89 for the regular 7mgte there was 700 of them produced and 500 sold in the u.s it has a better machined compressor housing and a 2mm larger inducer 1mm larger exducer (not sure about this pic but the ct26-A has 6 dual blades and ct26 has 5 dual blades) i think they mioght have labeled the pic wrong i count % dual blades on both wheels here http://t1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:A...wPZccSrNs_RiR2

and yeah i thought that also but when i was taking out the original engine that i believe to be a turbo-A engine i found a map sensor and had no idea why there wasn't a plug for it i kept searching the diagrams for one before deciding someone just used it as an expensive vac plug
