K&N Air Filter
 

Hey i'm going to get a K&N air filter for the next season. I was looking on their web site and found the part number E-2605-1. I have a 1986.5 non turbo car. I just want the filter that fits in the intake that the car comes with. Is that the right filter?

why dont you jus get an adapter that connects to the MAF
and get a cone air filter,

AAAAAAAAAH, he doesn't need a cone without a cai upgrade.
For stock. The stock k&n filter gets you noticable throttle responce.
If that # isn't the right one......, because .5er or not it should be the same air filter. That wasn't something that toyota changed mid stream.

Stocker k&n, MSD wires and blaster coil, walbro fuel pump. cf hood. front and rear shock struts. exhaust upgrade.. Start with the filter go to the wires new dist-cap and plugs. You may want to if you desire, swap to arp hardware, you can use a retorque anyways.

You should have a compression and leakdown test. Before you start retorquing anything.

yes that is the correct filter but i recommend buying a adapater for the MAS and just get a 3" filter, like he said a cone that is a good one but i rather recommend buying a filter made by Weapon R here is the link its expensive but it gets the job done better then any other filter:

Thanks for the tips guys! Here's what i'm thinking now. The car is an 86.5 bone stock NA supra. The filter has not been replaced since I got the car (about 8000 miles ago) and I just want to replace it. I'm not really interested in tinkering around with the intake at all, I just want to be able to slip the new filter in. I am aware of the benefits of the cone K&N filter, but I don't think thats where I am at right now with the car. Once I get out of college in a year I will really be hittin it hard with the upgrades, but ATM just keeping it stock. Does K&N make something I can just drop in or should i just stop by autozone and get a filter?

they do make a direct drop in once i get home ill look at the part number on mine
