Hey there everybody in Internet land, or pr0n world as I like to call it. Well here's the skinny, I'm contemplating whether or not to buy this 1989 Supra Turbo. Here are the mods as the Ad reads:
Have a 1989 Toyota Supra. Vehicle is smoking. I thought it was the turbo. Replaced but still smoking. Has ARP Bolts Koyo Radiator Spearco Replica Intercooler 3" Downpipe HKS Exhaust HKS Blow off Valve Greddy E-manage 5 Speed Eibach Lowering Springs Cross-Drilleg Brembo front Rotors Targa Top Called up the seller and had a quick chat with him about the car. Straight frame, clean title, About 120,000 miles clocked, it's a 5-speed ![]() P.S. This forum's sure got a lot of stickies.. lol BTW, glad to be part of the movement. |

You could buy that car for 1.5 and still end up putting another 10k into it.
These arent cars that you take to the shop everytime something goes wrong. Toyota will charge you up to and around 5k to fix a bhg. Those of us that work on our cars pay much much less and get better parts. Supras are a lifestyle and are not for the faint of heart. It's going to get much much worse before it gets any better. Performance Parts Aftermarket and Racing this is the online parts meca for all of your supra needs. If they can't get it they'll find it for you. Within reason. You being an 89 means that you can interchange parts from 87 and 88 models. This proves to be waisted effort at times, parts pending for me on my 91. |

Hey, thanks for all the replies. That one site kicks ass, even found parts for my moms camry lol. Decided on getting this clean non turbo 5 speed. Just build the bottom end and spray it w/ a 100 shot, but thats later down the road. gotta redo the suspension and brakes for now.
It's also got a decent amount of rust on the driver side area b/w the hood and the windshield wiper; also some on the rear hatch, same side. What can I do to remove the rust short of replacing them. Last edited by RCSG_MK; 12-31-2007 at 05:53 AM. |

You'll need a shop to cut out the cancer and weld in new metal.
If your hatch is rusty...., get a new seal. Check your tire well.. I bet it's really bad. |
