mrnickleye 11-02-2007 03:05 AM

Why did you cleen the MAF?
What was the car doing before you did this?

cyanide-is-a-way-out 11-02-2007 04:08 AM

i cleaned it because it was recommended to so i used the stuff to clean it and now when i touch the gas it shutters and dies

redmaro 11-02-2007 04:55 AM

What did you use to clean it with?

cyanide-is-a-way-out 11-02-2007 04:27 PM

well it was some stuff said to clean the sensor in seconds blash blah blah and the thing i cleaned was the sensor right behind the air filter

redmaro 11-02-2007 07:16 PM

Maybe you should let it sit till it dry completly.

Or the MAF is probably messed up now.

cyanide-is-a-way-out 11-02-2007 07:56 PM

i think it is messed up now its sat since last night and it still stutters when i touch the gas

make sure its connected, mine i was trying to figure out what was going on with my car and had the same symtom, then i remembered that my MAF was the last thing i worked on. forgot to plug the harness in.

cyanide-is-a-way-out 11-03-2007 01:01 AM

i made sure it was plugged in i tried to drive it today and it drove fine then all of the sudden it lost power and started shaking violently and jerking

CyFi6 11-03-2007 02:58 AM

sounds like theres a problem in the connection

You didnt unscrew the two phillips screws by the connector did you?

west_side_supra 11-03-2007 03:29 AM

3 screws :P

cyanide-is-a-way-out 11-03-2007 04:22 AM

i unscrewed the whole back thing fro the metal housing when i cleaned it

CyFi6 11-03-2007 06:17 AM

im talkin about the screws that are on either side of the connector, some people cant figure out how to remove the connector so they unscrew the whole thing and out comes a bunch of wires and it messes it all up

jfunez 11-03-2007 06:37 AM

get an air gun with compressed air and carefully blow the sensor with air...be very carefull as too much air pressure will harm it....blow specially in the small oriffice... I did the same thing and it worked great afterwards.....

there is fluid still trapped in the small holes of the sensor.....
