Does anyone know how much the stock wheels weigh each?

I can let you know next week. I am going to weigh them versus my stock I30 wheels to figure out which ones to use at the track for both cars.

I am running on stock rims do you guys think 17 inch wheels will slow my car down

KNYFE 05-19-2006 04:17 PM

Shouldn't matter unless they are heavier....

The tires usually weigh a lot more than the rims. Ive learned, from real cars and RC cars, Taking 1 lb off the tires/wheels is worth 1005235 more than taking weight off the actual car.

Rotating mass, does that ring a bell?:)

I have ran like 4 sets of wheels on my car. The best wheels are 17". They just FEEL better going in and coming out of turns. The responsiveness is bounds better than the 18's and the ride is more plush, but not to the point of "smooth".

I will always recommend any kind of yokohama tires because i have never heard anybody have a negative remark about their tires. As for rims/wheels.. I like SSR wheels, they are expensive but they are some of the best on the market because most of their wheels are "lightweight" (under 20 pounds). Find them at www.tirerack.com also when they talk about rotating mass, they are absolutely correct. Your stock pulley on your 7M weighs 11 pounds.. the Unorthodox Racing pulley weighs about a pound. It will run about $200 from a store.. look for it on ebay. But reducing any weight on wheels or tires will make huge differences. Just remember that if you change your rim size that you might want to get your speedometer readjusted.. actually I'm not sure if you have to on Supras. Be sure to find out though.

score!! an ebay seller sent the wrong tires to a friend of mine..he complained and the seller sent the right tires but he never asked for the wrong ones..so he gave him a couple of weeks to ask..the seller never said anything about it so i got 4 yoko 225/50-r16 avids for 120 bucks
