1986 7M-GE supra crank but no start

Hey guys i know this is a common thread but this car (1986 supra 7M-GE) has been idle for the past 8-10 and my dad has done some wor to it between that time period but now it wont start. Ive checked the fuses and even tested the ECU and it came back good. The three main things i can think of is the starter, igniter and the fuel line? also the radio has been removed and ive heard in certain OBD I vehicles it can keep the engine from firing for safety reasons? Im not to experienced in this field but i want to fix this myself and become one with my car

not Starti7mge engine

It is probably not the coil or ignitor. With the key on check the black wire with orange stripe coming out of igniter plug; if it has 12 Volts the ignitor is good. Before buying this $500.00 item, check this out firsrt. Unplug the plug going to the distributor; It has 4 prong plug; White wire(G1, yellow wireNE. red wire g2 and green wire g which is ground. Do a resistance check(OHMS) between g1and g2; g2 to G; g1to g and NE to G . all should read between 140-180 ohms. Any thing else lower indicates a bad coilpickup coil. Unfortunately you can no longer just buy the pick-up coils, you have to buy the distributor. About$120-150.00. Also these vechicles all have the anti theft stero alarm system, and i do not know hoe to troublr d\shoot that. Good luck

Well first off if your motor turns over its not your starter.
I'm going to assume fuel. So First check your error codes, second check for spark. If you have spark test your afm it's either that your pump relay or the pump itself.

Hi! Can you give a little more info ? , Questions ? , 8-10 -- days? , weeks ? , months ? . Was the car running before your dad worked on it ? , What work did your dad carry out ? . The more info available usually leads to a speedy diagnosis .

Sorry 8-10 years he only moved it about 4 times within that period. And he changed the distibutor and its quite hard to reach the 2 spark plugs near under the throttle position sensor? and i dont think the boots are down properly on the spark plugs.

i checked the error codes but found nothing on it blinking nonstop so i assume nothing is wrong with the electrical? and how can i find the fuel line my manual isnt very descriptive its more for someone who is experienced. also the cold start i njector had a drop of fuel in it but after that one drip there was no more.

Hi! , Thanks for the feedback , Questions : Why did your dad change the distributer ? and did the car start afterwards ?, if not - -quite a clue here ! - check the ignition timing and connections . . How old is the fuel in the tank ? I have heard that old fuel is hard to ignite ?? .

If This car has been sitting for 8-10 years, with gas in it, The gas is probably thick as moleasses. Not to mention water and rust.I bought a 86 supra that had only been sitting for 1 year and the fuel pump and tank were complrtely rusted out. Not hard to pull the tank; pull out filler neck and fuel pump and visually check them out. Good luck
