Aftermarket kit??

i need help looking for a aftermarket kit for a mk2 5MGE engine i was on wiki and it said that there were kits made to up the 2.8 to a 2.9 or a 3.1 i want to know where i can find this kit or if it would be possible to swap it out with a 7MGTE??

There is no such kit.. The 3.1 you are refering to is the stroked version of our engine..You will be using the rods and a crank from a 7m and the ballancer and timing gears from a 6m..The only diference in the 7m and 6m to the 5m is the stroke of the crank..They share the same bore's. The 5m(2.8) was a 12valve head aswell as the 6m(3.0)..The 7m(3.0) was the 24valve head so the valve reliefs are different so you will have to use the 5m pistons..If you can find them you can get the .060 over pistons and then you will reach your 3.1 dream..A 7mgte would be an easier option but you can still get good numbers out of the 5m with all the 7m turbo goodies slapped on it..Everything is a dirrect swap.Manifold, turbo, lines hoses etc..You would basicly only need a metal headgasket,RRFPR and maybe a standalone and you would make as good or better power than a 7m and no major modding the harness..Either way you choose to go is up to you. It also depends on how much time and money you want to spend on it..

ok i had a thread up about the 7mgte parts fitting on a 5mge and i was told that it is not possible because its to differrent. so all of the turbo parts will fit? injectors manifold and all?

20 years ago I was at HKS and they showed me their 7m GTE drag car that was 900 hp, 2 speed powerglide, cool piece of work, great palace for petrol heads Phil
