Aussie Mk2

Hello all,
I'm looking at buying a 1984 Celica Supra, but there's something that doesn't feel right. This Supra has the SOHC 5ME engine, where as most Supras I've seen for sale or on the net, have all had the DOHC 5MGE engines.
Does anyone know if the 5ME engine was an option on the aussie Mk2 ?
