dash fracked

My dashboard for my 86.5 Supra is fracked. No a piece of carpet looks like feldercarb or cow paddy. Where can I get a new one and please keep the junkyard remarks. Those dashboards are also 25 years old.

No help for this? If it was a turbo bypass that sounded like an infant, there would be 100 responses. Am I the only one who wants my ride to look good?:werd:

how bad is it

hwo bad is the fracture? can you post a picture of it. Is it just the leather that's damaged or is it all the way to the frame of the dashboard?

The cracks go all the way through and it is warped near the glass in the passenger side. Just moved and can not find my camera. Need to post new pics because of the paint job.

Been busy moving into my new house, can not find the cord that goes from my camera to the computer. Going to start this weekend.

The first time it's a terrible, miserable, detestable, bitch of a job... Second time's better as you've already broken and replaced all the dried up plastic clips. ;) BTW, last time I removed it the dealer was unable to get me replacements for the clips that hold the dash up by the defroster vents... I can't remember if they just couldn't get them by the time I needed them or if they are discontinued.

Have fun with it.... I do NOT envy you. :p

Probably an old thread, but my buddy makes mk3 dashes, 100% fit, in fiberglass, starting at 450 in primer!! They look 100%, but ofcourse, you can always request to have inserts for gauges, cover ac vents, etc... Just tell me what you want done, and i can have him make it.

Any pics of the fiberglass dashes

fiberglass? also you mean your dash covers up the AC and gauges? Think I would be better off putting some aerodynamic smooting coumpound in the cracks and covering it with leather. so thanks but no thanks.

I have two in good shape for sale. One grey and the other tan. To be honest they are just taking up space and would like to get them sold.

jduvall24 10-12-2012 02:49 AM

Could you post pics and are these fiberglass?

How much do you want for the grey one?

907mge 10-22-2012 01:18 AM

It turns out the grey one will be staying with the car after all. I still have the brown one.

If anyone is still looking for a good dash cover, I'm trying to get an upholstery shop near me to put together a pattern to sew one up in marine-grade vinyl. If anyone is interested, send me a PM. I'm taking mine out to do the heater core and letting him have the dash to make the pattern.
