Nah, as long as the edge of the nipple is still smooth (not corroded and rough) the vacuum line will still slide on and off, just with some extra tension. I've yet to have a silicone hose not just slide back on even with the zip tie on it... like I said the stuff is slick... in a bad way for this kind of application. Besides, you don't get a choice really; Do it now or do it later after getting pissed about numerous vacuum leaks.
