EDIT: There was a TCCS test rig (came in it's own little suitcase and everything) which would live test a TCCS. They weren't common back in the day and are almost unheard of these days but you could see if a dealership near you has one. A rare find.

The TCCS doesn't fail all too often though.... typically if there is an issue it's due to a leaking electrolytic capacitor and those can often be spotted visually and are easily replaced.
