male or female welcome aboard.
it is always a good idea to replace the flywheel when replacing the clutch or getting the old one resurfaced. Should only cost between 25 and 50 depending on local pricing. The idea is to have clean surface meet clean surface and prevent the above issues you are experiencing..

If it was me I would just shell out for a new lightweight one. Preventing any "hot spots" from the resurfacing / cutting. but hey, 20 bucks is 20 bucks..
