If we are talking about the same thing; Spacers will affect the offset of the wheel which in turn may affect all aspects of the front suspension and steering (depending on whether the spacer just made up for the wrong offset on a new set of wheels or if it was added to wheels which were already the correct offset). I've never seen them marketed as a solution for changing the steering geometry... more that that's considered a side effect (often an undesirable one). A change in offset can result in oversteer or understeer.
