I'll answer both questions on this thread from my experience with a 1j swap.

The 7m trans will fit on a 1jz, only if first, you have a 1jz bell-houseing, and second, if you have the R-154 transmission. the W-58 won't match up to the 1j bell-housing.

Evant: As for wiring and such, because the 1jz uses individual coil packs, you'll need to either use a 1jz wire harness and ecu, and convert it for the ma70 chassis, or use a 2jz wireharness and ecu, which is a lot more work to convert to work in a ma70 chassis. The 1j harness is usually easier, though you have to extend it about 3 feet due to differences in the Japanese and USDM car's.
