A340E Speed Sensor

So I'm in a bit of a pickle in my current situation. I have a car that does not have ABS. No sensors on any of the wheels, nothing. However, the speed sensor on the tranny is a 3 wire which is supposedly for an ABS equipped vehicle. There is an error code for the tranny that speed sensor 2 is malfunctioning. I recently bought a 1 wire speed sensor that is supposedly for non ABS cars, however I'm told that it doesn't fit (I didn't actually try it myself.) My question is did they make two different auto trannies for this car? Or is it supposed to run off a 3 wire sensor regardless of ABS? The connector that runs back into the car somewhere has 3 wires on it as well which leads me to believe that the speeds sensor also needs to be a three wire. Can anyone assist me with this problem please?
