Granted it has 79k on it but the factory head gasket sucks really on a 7M it would be good to just replace it. The thing is you dont know if in its life it was run hot left for a extended period of time with low water and then drove like that. I know the guy might be old but my dad seems like a old man till he gets behind the wheel of my car and hits the rev limiter every shift. But if you dont want to go the route of replacing the head gasket just retorque the head to factory torque. If you check the torque and they are loose may be a bad sign but heh you never know. I wouldnt turn the boost all the way up just at first just a tick and drive to see what happens. If you notice it getting hot at any time back it off. The car may be a 89 but its 18 years old so put that into the equasion.
