It's not normal. It could be bearings, either in the differential, the wheel knuckles or the carrier bearing. Typically a bad carrier bearing is accompanied by vibration when driving at high speeds. Also check to make sure it isn't just a brake pad that's sticking to the rotor or a problem with the e-brake.
