What about the PCV passages in the cam covers? When I had mine off for the 2nd time during my head gasket replacement you should have seen the amount of sludge in there. I actually had to scrape it out with a screwdriver. Serious restriction.
If you have over 100k miles I highly recommend removing the cam covers and cleaning out the PCV passages in them also.
