1997 supra n/a

hey guys, i'm new here...and new to toyotas in general. right now i own a 2002 acura rsx and a friend at work is selling his 1997 supra he brought to wisconsin from texas for 7k. granted there apparently has some work that needs to be done. this is what he tells me...i've seen it in person.

such as:
-hard top drips once in a while in 2 corners where it is bent
-battery shot (and because of this i can't turn the car over or even drive it yet)
-110k miles...so it needs maintence in some ways that 110k supras need :P
-apparently the exhaust needs to be changed because it sounds like "leaves blowing in a tunnel when you push on the accelerator"
-audio is stripped...has stock radio but it isn't wired
-new rims
-possibly a new altenator

granted i don't know how much toyota parts run...or what i should look what could be wrong when it starts up. he said he would try and start it up within the next week or 2. he drove it from texas this past summer.

also, i know a bit about cars...but nothing really too hardcore about engines and what to check for. so the question lies...good deal? what should i look for? what typically goes wrong with supras after 100k that needs maintence? and any other thing you would like to add is appritiated. thanks ahead of time!
