An SZ-R is a "supra MKIV" BUT not all "supra MKIV"s are SZ-Rs. The SZ-R is only non-turbo ("n/a"=normally aspirated), with a manual transmission. In other words, there are automatic MKIVs and turbo MKIVs that are not SZ-Rs...

The term "MKIV" (Mark-'IV'=Four) refers to all Supras (turbo or non-turbo, auto, 5spd, or 6spd) with the 4th generation body style, which is Toyota chassis code "jza80".
... does that mean that the automatic transmissions on the MkIII & MkIV are the same??? please enlighten me. newbie here trying to learn the variables.
