Rebuild is about 2600.00 locally here to bring it back to new factory spec conditions. Performance, sky is the limit really. You can also get a JDM motor for around 800.00 or so. But I still suggest, as do the people who sell them to you usually, redoing the headgasket, and while you got that off, resurface the head and reseat the valves. Not sure on the cost of resurfacing and reseating tho.
As for which you do, I can't really tell you which, but at least you have some info on it now.
