Rust concern

Hey ive been taking apart my engine to replace the head gasket but now that the cylenders are exposed i worrie about rust, im not sure will it rust quick if exposed to air or is it not steel, im not sure.

The reason is that the head gasket set i ordered was the wrong one so i have to get another.
