I can't speak from experience but I know the tires you speak of are good winter tires. Also look into the Bridgestone Blizzak LM-22 or Blizzak LM-50. The more narrow the tire the better. Consumers rate the LM-22 equally in snow traction to the Ice-X, and the LM-50 is rated higher than both.
