Default Oil in catch can looks and acts like mucus. BHG?

I went to empty the aftermarket oil catch can on my '89 7MGTE today, and expected to see, well, oil. Instead, what I found was a goopy mess that looked like brownish mucus/mustard/vomit. The oil on the dipstick and under filler cap looks normal and clean, and no bubbling in the radiator. The car has been sitting for about six months, only started a few times, and has only driven about 7K miles in the last two years. I've heard that a car sitting and not being heated up fully will give similar results. Anybody able to shed some light on my dilemma? Thanks!
