Chattering Noise

Hard to diagnose noises through just a description unfortunately, much easier to hear the sound in person but if it's just happening over bumps as suggested by your checking of ball joints/bushes etc perhaps you could check (listed in my personal order of most suspicion, ymmv) the anti roll bar's drop links for play, strut top mounts, steering joints, rack bushes, perhaps the brake pad anti-rattle shims, wheel bearings, wheel bolts and lastly, if all else fails, check that there's nothing else loose on the car that could be sounding like it's coming from the suspension but really isn't...

Wish I could be more specific, but that's the nature of the beast with distance diagnosis of noises I'm afraid.

With any luck someone'll be nearby and be able to have a listen for you maybe?
