get a battery tender, bit more expensive, but it won't mess up a battery. Change all fluids before and after storing, and remember to wash it well. The cleaner you put it away, the cleaner it comes out, and the less work it is the get rid of the crud. I strongly suggest storing inside if possible, as rust forms fast on parts like brakes, and will be a real hassle in a place like that...

If you put it in a garage, get a heater that keeps it above freezing out there and you're set, and yeah, put it up on jackstands to keep the tires from getting flat spots...
