If it is hitting normal operating temps very rapidly and really seems to be trying to overheat then double check your timing both mechanical and ignition... start with the ignition and distributor's...

If you're handy, and I know you are, the sensor is just a magnetic reed switch inside the plastic shaft. You could try replacing that by itself before investing more money.

Might try calling the dealership to see if they know the size and pitch of part number 90119-10019. Or buy one and hit Lowes or HD for the rest. I think that's the only one you need for the stand.
