As far as the spark plug goes, I highly doubt that it detonated...

210 isn't outrageous, but it is a little suspicious. more than likely there is oil sitting utop the cylinder, either caused by bad rings on that piston, leaky valve stem seals or worn valve guides.

I can almost guarantee you that it wasn't valve pieces unless the timing belt broke around 6500rpms.

And how were things "picked out of the cylinder"? Did someone stick a magnet down the spark...
