OK BIG RED FLAG! If the guy that told you he rebuilt this motor said he thinks the noise is a rocker you have a big problem. This motor does not use rockers nor does it have any. The cams ride on top...

Not sure yet, it could be a timing issue or it could be a broken valve spring. Not sure. I have it to some degree on both my cars. One fella told me he put a washer in between the distributor...

Just started mine after 6 or 8 years

Mine sat because of a bad starter and because I had another Supra. Other Supra developed a head noise so finally I laid in the driveway in leaves and sticks and busted knuckes getting the starter...
