Question Rear Speakers... Which ones to buy/where to buy????

Hey everyone, I need to buy some rear speakers for my 87 Supra and I need to buy some good quality speakers and not some that will last a few months.

The thing I would like to is

-where can I find some speakers that are a direct fit and sound just as good as the OEM sepakers(but not busted lol)?

Please me out.

Thanks again everyone.

That's a good question.

I think your answer might lie inside a couple of 6x9 speaker boxes.

Just an opinion.

Thanks for the response.

No problems man.

I guess it depends on what type of music you listen to the most.
Alot of bass would require something that country doesn't.

Besides if you listen to country you shouldn't be in a supra.

I find pioneers last the longest with the best responce unless you want a speaker from an audio shop.

I just get cd players that push 200 watts and get a 6x9 with the mids and the tweets.

Boxes are cheap and you can keep the fronts on and have all the guts in the rear. They don't sound bad but they won't shake mirrors if that's your thing.

The sony explodes are trash. Pioneer is way better. But if you could get a cerwin vega or a jbl, you should if that's what you want.

I'm thinking about wiring mine with bose speakers.

Forget those 6x9 in boxes,
U can use the 5 1/2 speakers and still screw them on top of the rear speaker holders
I mounted mine on the outside , cuz I'm not the biggest fan of the "flush look"

But to me pioneer make the best interior speakers,
And mtx for subs and amps

Like it was said earlier, what type of music do u listen to,?
U might not need 2000w of pounding bass
If ur a country fan

And as for for not driving a supra if ur from the country,
I know this country-folk with an mk3,
I don't think u want to race him,

Even I don't wanna race him after seeing his setup, and u can see my mods on the bottom

lol. Hey Supra2NR, can you tell me what speakers you have? maybe a picture or a model number so I might be able to find a set.

Thanks and also I havent for got about your shop but I just gotten a Supra a few days ago and the motor is pretty strong for now and im going to college and once I save my $$$ then I will stop by your shop.

I was also thinking about getting this set on ebaymotors. I know you will have to do some work to the box but what do you think?

I used 4 5.1/2 3 way speakers
All 200w ,
Type S speakers from pioneer, for the interior
And 3000w 8 channel amp from eclipse to support the 5.1/2s

And 2 12" sub with the metal casing from mtx(don't know the specific name)
A 2000w 2 channel watt from mtx,for the sub

This all worked for me when I was into sounds, and I used this setup on my old car
But the 4 pioneer speakers made it into the supra, and I only use a single 12" xplod sub
And a 1000w xplod amp
They don't pound like mtx,
But I'm on a faster car now

Throw one of these MTX Jackhammers in the back!!!
Seriously though I have some small nakamichi component speakers that sound good, a 4 channel Namamichi amp for the front and rears and a Kicker 8" tube driven by a Sony class D amp. You won't here me thumping down the street but inside it sounds good enough.

^lol, I remember when I first saw that speaker on Pimp My Ride, To bad they put it in one ulgy car.

I bet that sounds good f00g00, because in my N/A I had two 8inch tubes as well and it sounded pretty good but that is because all of my other 4 speakers were blown and I needed some music lol.
