Default boost drop

well i changed to a 3" downpipe and added a walboro 255 fuel pump, i was holding steady at 8psi now it goes to 6 maybe 7 if i am lucky then drops to 4-5.

i changed the gasket that is between the DP and turbo.

i always thought that when you open the exhaust up, it cause a little more boost not a loss.

it still feels strong, it actually feels stronger. i wonder if my guage is just crapping out on me.

if anyone has any ideas, let me know. i would appreciate any feed back.

First thing, get an aftermarket boost gauge. The stock guage responds very slow. Then check to see if you have a boost leak anywhere.

yep get an aftermarket boost gauge then measure

did you get a 3" from the turbo or from the turbo elbow back?
is the wastegate opening fully or is it hitting the downpipe

what downpipe did you get?

the down pipe is from the turbo back and it is from cooleeze in canada. they do very nice work to i must say.

i solved the problem though, i am back to 8psi and holding very strong. 3 of my clamps were loose on the charge piping. i cant believe the difference in just adding a down pipe to this car.

i have the new innercooler hard pipe on the way and full exhaust from cooleeze so it should add a little more.

i also got in the ARP head bolts and a 2mm tri metal headgasket form titan so i should have a fun weekend coming up.
