Default 7mgte Swap

My Car: 1986.5 7mge 5Speed
So i have recently found a great deal on a 7mgte motor and i really cant pass it up. I found a guy that has a 1991 mkiii with a 7mgte with auto tranny. Basically he said there was somthing wrong cause the motor was acting up and he has no clue what is wrong with it. So he decided that he was going to pull the 7m and do a 350 swap, hints he knows 0 about supras. So that means he is going to pull everything off the car he doesnt need. This is why its such a great deal the car is mostly a donor car for parts, he is keeping the car but he told me i can have everything he doesnt need. I know the motor will drop in the car but what i need to know is what parts do i need off the car? Also can i use the wiring harness and ecu from the 91? If anyone can help me please let me know i would greatly appreciate it if there is anything else i need to know about this swap chime in and give me your thoughts

Thanks Greatly

I'd try to figure out the problem with the motor while its still in the donor car rather than going through all the trouble of hooking it up in yours then having many other variables about why it might not be running properly; electrical etc.

Well a computer and harness from a 91 will not work in a pre 89. So even if you purchased the engine and all the required parts it would not be a plug and play deal. I would go ahead and buy it, having a spare engine especially a turbo engine is nice.

Yes it would be easier to sole the problems while still i nthe car but the guy lives a couple hours away and i dont feel like spending a day or two out of town trying to fix the car so i will probably have to get somthing else figured out.

I did read somwhere about this and your right just couldnt remember, but i guess what i need to figure out is if i get an ecu and harness from a pre 89 will it work on the motor? Im going to say yes but correct me if im wrong. Also i know i need the ignitors from the turbo car (these are in the pass fender?) and fpr, but what else would i need off this car and be specific if possible, thanks.
