Default Need to replace the stereo

The double DIN sized unit has a non-functional tape deck. I'd like to put in an XM capable head unit with a single disc CD and use the other half of the existing opening for a storage space to rest my cellphone (it currently sits on the passenger seat.)

Can a new stereo be put in that doesn't look like it is aftermarket? I've seen some pretty shoddy jobs in some cars and want this to look like it's supposed to be there.

Yes. My Pioneer CD player looks good in the upper hole area. Below it is a plastic box. I believe you can still order the plastic box from Toyota.

The box is on order. It is very nice to know that I can still get random parts for a 16 year old car. I could understand major things being available but an optional console part is pushing it a little. It isn't like this is a part that is going to have to be replaced in a recall.

How much is the box??

The little springy latch on my center console/armrest broke.
Toyota wanted $17 for that little plastic part. I made my own out of metal for free, works great.
