I'm deploying to Iraq again, and want this sold before September 5th. It's an 87 Turbo, Manual transmission, non-targa. It has 130,000 miles on it. I was told by the previous owner that it had its head gasket replaced with a stock head gasket but torqued to 75 pounds.
I installed a set of hoses from hose techniques in red. It has a cheep e-bay air filter on it. It has a straight pipe from the cat back and I will include a cheap e-bay turbo back exhaust with it. I have replaced everything electrical on this within the last 6 months, i.e. coilpacks, plugs, wires, igniter. I will include the replaced components because it turns out none of these where the cause of the non-starting problem. (Which has been identified and sort of fixed) The battery is less than 3 months old and I got the biggest one Autozone carried and said would fit. Several bad ground wires where identified and replaced. I have also put 4 washers on the wastegate and installed an aftermarket boost guage. I will probably keep the boost guage for a future car, although i could be talked out of this. I had the lower radiator hose replaced about two weeks ago after the old one exploded as I was driving. I have also removed a lot of rust and painted many items within the engine bay such as the tems covers, 3000 pipe, etc. It looks pretty good in there. The foglights are included, but are not installed, as the passenger side one did not work, even after I replaced bulbs. The headlight switch is broken, but works. The interior was completely gutted by a previous owner for weight reduction. The heater takes forever to warm up and the AC doesn't seem to work at all, although it blows air as warm or cold as the ambient temperature. The paint is peeling in many places, and there is a small spot of rust where someone tried to break in to the drivers door. The trunk doesn't open at all. The rims are scratched, the front lip is bent, etc. The engine sounds perfect when it starts. The starting problem is do to the CPS wires which need to be either replaced or rewired. Jiggling the wires will often allow the car to start. I want to be completely honest with this listing, which is why I have described all of these problems in detail. Car drives and handles well when it starts. I need to sell it and will take the best offer given, although my wife wants to sell it for about $3000 or more. I paid $3500 a year ago and have put about $1200 into it since then. Someone make an offer. I can e-mail pics of the engine bay or the car. PM me. |
